  1. New Zealanders are  called kiwis not because of the  fruit but the native bird that is called a kiwi that is only in  New Zealand
  2. 30% of New Zealand is forest
  3. Gisborne is the first city in the world to see the sunrise because it is 496.3 kilometers away from the International Date Line

    Wow, those are some interesting facts about New Zealand! I've lived here my whole life and had no idea that 30% of our country is forest or that Gisborne is the first city in the world to see the sunrise! People there would probably have to get up nice and early then. Do you like waking up early? I like to sleep in and cuddle with my dog in the mornings. What a unique and special bird we have, don't you think? Do you have friends who are from another country and do they call you a Kiwi? When I go to visit my friends in Australia, Taiwan or South Africa, they call me a Kiwi! They thought it was funny to be calling me a bird but I told them it is a normal nickname here in New Zealand.
